This information is for the recurring article in Bright Metallic Magazine, the Bloggernauts.
- Our goal for this article:
To help creators and readers to find like-minded bloggers.
- General description for this article format:
This article will feature a different fashion blogger each month, showing one of their favorite sci-fi/post-apocalyptic/cyberpunk looks. Tech specs are listed in the following document:
Note: If you would like to do more than one of these options or something not listed, please let us know. We’ll do whatever we can to work with what you’d like to do.
You can find past and current issues of Bright Metallic on Issuu.
III. Selection process:
The bloggers featured will be selected from a queue. When needed, the staff at Bright Metallic will send out offers to fashion bloggers, asking them if they would like to contribute. There is no application process, only bloggers invited will be selected for this specific article.
Bloggers will be assigned months depending on their schedules.
- This will also be done on a first come, first serve basis. Bloggers who respond first will have their pick of what month they would like to be featured in.
- If you are interested, the first thing you need to tell us is your availability, i.e. what month you would prefer. If possible, we like you to sign up as the back-up blogger the month before your scheduled month, in case the blogger before you may need to back out or reschedule.
- For certain special issues, there is the possibility that we will feature more than one fashion blogger.
We have now removed our exclusivity requirement to allow our Bloggernauts to feature event-specific items if they desire, however we do request any photos that do not show time-sensitive items to be exclusive for the month of the issue.
For example, if you are the Bloggernaut for the January issue, we ask that you do not post the pictures that will be in the magazine on your blog or Flickr until February 1st. We do, however, encourage you to tell your readers to check you out in the magazine!
Our goal is for this to be a mutually beneficial relationship. We hope that by being featured in Bright Metallic, you will get more regular readers, and maybe even some new creators offering you review copies. In general, we do not compensate contributors financially. We do what we do for the love of the genre, and we rely on readers and contributors who share that passion. However, if you have an event, store, club, or something else you would like advertised in the magazine, please let us know! In most cases, we’re happy to do it! If you feel you need some other sort of compensation, I’ll be happy to discuss it with you.
Generally, all we ask is that your photos be fitting to the magazine. This includes a fairly wide range. Pure science fiction, cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic, dystopian, steampunk…the list goes on. Unless it is a special issue, there will not be a “theme” you’re asked to adhere to, other than the general guidelines.
Our magazine is distributed in a variety of places, so we ask that you keep it PG-13. If you’re not sure if your photo will be appropriate, feel free to ask us!
